In math, we continued practicing adding and subtracting larger numbers. We will introduce multiplication and previewing adding sets.
In science we wrapped up our study of the rotting log, took a closer look at soil and next week we will look at earthworms and compost. Today we learned how air and water change the land through some experiments with sand, straws and water. We also looked at how plants help soil by absorbing water through their roots system.
Last day of school: Friday, June 26th. Dismissal is at 12:00. On the last day of school, parents are invited to come in at 11:00 to cheer on students as they "graduate" second grade. We will pass out yearbooks and graduation certificates. It's very low key but if you would like to come, 2C would love to have you!
The ice Cream Party (shhh, it's still a surprise) will happen on Thursday, June 25th. Students will enjoy a frozen treat and watch a movie.
2C will meet with their buddies on Tuesday for a final farewell Popsicle party. 2C students aren't aware of this yet, but will be finding out on Monday :)
That's all for now, have a wonderful weekend!
