For those who left information at the Back to School Breakfast, you are all set and don't need to contact me again :) Important Dates: October 7th is Picture Day: Please be sure to send in your picture day forms and cash/check that morning. October 13th is Columbus Day: There is no school in observance of Columbus Day. Have a great weekend Everyone! Whew! We were busy in 2C today! We read Pancakes For Breakfast, a wordless picture book by Tomie dePaola. Students began writing their own versions of the story by revisiting the illustrations and brainstorming their own ideas. We continued practicing skip-counting on the number line. Students worked in groups and assembled their own number lines. Then each group was assigned a number to practice skip counting by. We had our first visit from our 4th grade buddy class! 4G brought books and read with 2C students! We had so much fun getting to know our new 4th grade friends! Enjoy your day off from school tomorrow! See you Friday!
For the past week, students have been practicing word study in class. Here, students are working in partners to do a buddy sort. Students read their words to each other and record them in their journals.
