Welcome back students! I hope everyone had a nice vacation. We got right back to business as usual in the classroom. Lots of projects have started and finished this week. Let's take a look. We made New Years resolutions and wrote them down on flip books. We decorated party hats too. Be sure to check them out just outside of our classroom. I will post a picture on Twitter as well. In Spanish class we practiced numbers using a mystery coloring activity. This week we learned about Hopi symbols. We wrote stories and made our own replicas of Hopi symbols using colored corn kernels. The symbol stories will be on display in our classroom, so make sure you come and check them out. In math, we continued our learning with place value and addition. We played place value mat addition to help us understand how place value can be used as a strategy for solving mathmatical equations.
