Happy April Vacation everyone! It's hard to believe it, but I think we officially made it to warmer weather! I hope you all enjoy your time away from school. Whether it's a stay-cation or you are traveling to far off places, enjoy and safe travels. Please enjoy some of the highlights from this week. We presented our reader's theatre plays to Mrs. Bates' first grade class. Thank you Ms. McNeil for your hard work. We loved having you! We learned about Ghanaian instruments like the talking drum and the shekere. We listened to some songs and read The Royal Drum an Ashanti tale retold by Mary Dixon Lake. We also learned about many Ghanaian games: The Black Stars (official soccer team), drop peter drop (like duck duck goose), shakey shakey, Achi (like tic tac toe) and Wari (mancala.) We made our own Wari boards. We went to see some familiar faces perform in Carnival of the Animals, a delightful show put on by the Baker kindergarteners. Early Release Days: April 7th, 15th, 28th, May 6th. *Dismissal is at 12:40. *please note that we will be eating lunch in our classroom due to the short day. School lunch will be available.
Have a wonderful vacation!
